The Koh Samui condo market appeals to investors as their are not many choices. This has meant that those condo project going ahead are able to post sales, even whilst the economic situation in the world has been suffering. The Samui condo projects have been able to succeed due to a balance between supply and demand.

While high end villas have seen little activity, the Koh Samui condos market has seen still a demand from investors and second home buyers. The pricing has been a major factor as the entry investment point is far lower. With prices starting as low as 45,000 Baht per sqm, there is and appetite for Koh Samui condos. With sizes starting from 26 sqm to as large as 118 sqm, their is a choice of Studios, 1 bedroom and 2 bedroom units on offer in the mid range condo sector.

On Koh Samui, the condo developers tend not to build on beach front land due to lack of availability of suitable plots, and this coupled with zone restrictions and height mean that normal locations are away from the beach. There is only one exception to this at the lower mid level condo price range, that of Replay condominium which is across the road from the beach which makes it an attractive proposition to many investors.

Condos in Koh Samui are are located in the Bophut and Cheong Mon area, which has an abundance of restaurants and other entertainment. Arisara in Bophut and Emerald in Plai Laem capture this theme, and are well located also within 5 minutes of good beaches.

The main contender coming now is the Koh Samui Condos for sale project called Replay. This is set close to the beach on 11.5 Rai of land is a landmark event for its concept and facilities. The developer has set its standards high and also its opening prices lower than other competing projects. The development is close to Bophut, on the road running along to Bangrak. This project has now started build and is expected to complete in June 2012.

Koh Samui Condominiums are therefore seen as a great option by investors seeking access to the Koh Samui property market. Reasons behind this are their low cost entry and also their future demand. Compared to villas that are higher priced, this option gives good choice and access to facilities and a constant controllable income stream. It seems self evident that the Koh Samui Condo market will continue to gather strength in the coming years.
